By day, I’m a digital marketer. I write, I build, and I think through problems. I try to learn something new every day and use it to help others.

And some days—the best days—you’ll find me outside, exploring the PNW. I’m living proof that work and technology don’t have to separate us from nature: instead, they can be catalysts that get us out there. What’s more, I’ve found that spending time outdoors isn’t a work liability; some of my best ideas come when I’m out on a trip.

Resources for marketers

Marketers don’t have the best reputation. They’re often seen as nothing more than greedy manipulators trying to separate people from their money.

But I’m not willing to accept that inheritance. I believe that the best marketers serve a more noble purpose: helping people make wise decisions. Instead of taking from the world, marketers could be a lever that improves it.

That doesn’t mean that I don’t care about results—in fact, I’ve seen this approach lead to big, long-term wins for companies of all sizes.

Your work shouldn’t mean death to adventure. If it does, you’re doing it wrong.

Times are changing. Remote work, a flexible schedule, and the belief that freedom is worth more than money and power have helped me discover a new kind of work-life balance, one that allows me to pursue a fulfilling life in conjunction with a meaningful day job.

I get to enjoy my work and I get to indulge in my passions—and not just on the weekends. For me, that means spending more time traveling and exploring the outdoors. I write articles that help others do the same.
